The games section of the LSAT can be the most difficult section for many students. We have also found that it is the easiest to improve in. With a few lessons in how to prepare your diagrams and analyze the questions in the games section of the LSAT you can dramatically improve your score.

At the top of the first page of each Analytical Reasoning section of the LSAT you find the title Directions with an explanation of how to do this section.
Directions: Each group of questions in this section is based on a set of conditions. In answering some of the questions, it may be useful to draw a rough diagram. Choose the response that most accurately and completely answers each question and blacken the corresponding space on your answer sheet.
You should read and understand this now but DO NOT read it during the actual LSAT. The directions do not change and this is a waste of 30 seconds. It may not seem like much but in the end it could mean the difference between getting one more question right or one more wrong; and this could mean the difference between getting into your law school of choice or not. Read it now, read it tomorrow but DO NOT read it on the actual LSAT.
The directions tell us a couple of important things.
Other than these two things there is not much of use in the directions.
Next each game will have an introductory paragraph followed by a set of rules or conditions. The key to success in any Analytical Reasoning section of the LSAT is understanding this part of the game and then summarizing it in a diagram and/or set of rules in shorthand. If you can get this right the questions will be relatively easy to solve. You must practice reading through these introductory paragraphs and drawing your diagrams until you are comfortable creating a diagram and summarizing the rules for any game.
