Don't worry as much about your LSAT score being low for the moment. Generally people who have been out of school or are older score much lower on the LSAT. Law Schools understand this and often have special admissions categories for mature students. Meaning you may find it easier to get into law school with a lower LSAT if your life experience makes up for it.

Have you checked out our LSAT course? We've got some great resources to help you with the LSAT there.

I am a senior citizen. I have always loved learning. Just completed an Introduction to Law - 101 class. It was like learning a second language, but, I persevered, studied all the time and finally began understanding the "new language". Ended with a grade of "A".
Now retired with probably many years ahead, I have a passion to study law! Already have a B.S. and a Masters. However, when I take a practice LSAT, I do terrible! My brain is not wired that way. It's automatic for some, but a skill I must develope. I do best in a classroom environment where ideas and skills are shared.
How can I achieve this desired skill and really conquer it? I seem to have a mental block. I need to find the key that will unlock this door for me. When I'm totally ready I want to take the LSAT and score high.

Hi Vivian,

There's a lot to that question. To really figure things out I'd probably have to speak with your or your son or both. Feel free to give me a call at 1-877-LSAT-PRO or 1-778-388-4098. I'd be happy to chat with you about how he's doing and what he can do to improve.

A few issues I commonly see are that students are not dedicating enough time or they are not using that time wisely. Also, many students don't know how to study for the LSAT or spend too much time doing endless practice exams instead of properly reviewing exams. I would always prefer to see a student review an exam to the point of complete understanding rather than just mark it and move on. This article may help.. http://www.alphascore.com/posts/lsat-prep-review/

With respect to the Kaplan course, while Kaplan has some great courses and materials, as with any classroom course provider, the quality of the course really depends on the quality of the instructor and many companies hire 1st and 2nd year law students who may have great LSAT scores, but are often inexperienced teachers.

I hope this helps a little and of course feel free to give me a call or email and I'd be happy to help out.

Cheers,

Greg
